Reports from Ridgeville on December 26 say a holiday highway accident killed 12 people and left seven others unconscious or seriously ill. The dead include two women Mrs Anna Schuyler 64 and Mrs Eva Brown 62. A 15 year old student is among the seriously ill in local hospitals.
Police report that Edward Harris, a 43 year old colored man, is in critical condition at a local hospital after a poisoning incident during Christmas celebrations in Columbus. A separate city-wide tally showed fewer than 250 holiday arrests, with one death from acute alcoholism recorded.
Disjointed report notes deaths from poison after a Christmas revelry. a shotgun incident wounds three boys at a bonfire. youths and girls aged 16 to 20 fall ill after drinking from a flask, with police investigation ongoing.
In IES OF ACUT AM Alabama December 26 a man died at a hospital after an autopsy confirmed acute alcoholism as the cause. The death followed a purchase at a drug store.
In Steubenville Ohio area two others are in serious condition and two more held for furnishing liquor after a Christmas auto crash in Weirton. A man identified as Bell died from chest crush injuries when his car overturned following a party accident where a bottle of liquor was found. Ten people were injured in Christmas auto accidents locally.
In New York City on December 26 a husband and wife were found dead in their apartment after a gas leak. Police investigated whether the deaths were accidental as a carpenter testified about turning on and off the gas while his family planned a New Year reunion.
In a purge announced by a Soviet official, authorities reported expulsion or removal of hundreds of residents labeled undesirables, including narcotics suspects and other dissenters, from the city as part of a broad cleanup.
Paris dispatch reports the inter allied reparations commission fixing January 14 for the first committee to study Germanys capacity to pay reparations. Canton relay reports Charles Burgoone, 59, once of Elyria, found dead beside a railroad track with throat cut. A daughter still living in Elyria is unnamed. Burgoone, a factory night watchman, was found by a milkman alerted by his dog. His revolver and money were on him. cause of death not clear.
Four men died in a Christmas shooting in Hazard Kentucky as officers tried to arrest Dennis Phillips. Deputy William Smith and J D Matthews were killed, John Richmond and John Hays were wounded. Storekeeper Jerry Dunn was hospitalized in serious condition and Dennis Phillips remained in danger.
In Tulsa on December 26 two unmasked robbers entered Harry Goldberg’s jewelry store after which they tied up customers and Will Goldberg and escaped with diamonds and cash estimated at 320000. The duo hopped into a nearby car and fled.
Athens dispatch reports Liberal leaders pressing former premier Eleutherios Venizelos to stay in Greece to direct government affairs upon his return on January 3. They argue his presence is crucial for stability and leadership ahead of upcoming political developments.
Mrs Kitty Cole formerly Miss Kitty Wells of LaPorte died this morning in Cleveland Hospital at fifty four. She is survived by son Howard of Cleveland daughter Bay Webster of Rocky River two sisters Nattie Barbyte and Late Alexander and a brother Frank Wells. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. Cincinnati memo notes Frederick Elver baggage man for fifty years died at home. Madrid report: King Victor Emmanuel elected honorary member of the Academy of History.
Paris reports the giant French airship Dixmude with fifty persons on board is missing after departing to fly to Algeria. Three o clock status shows no sign of the ship while officials hold faint hope some may be found alive. The passenger list includes nine captains a doctor four lieutenant commanders and thirty six crew members.
Lieut Osborne Wood, 26, son of Governor General Leotard Wood of the Philippines, has made a fortune on Wall Street. His brother Leonard Wood Jr. says Wood plans to retire from the army and enter diplomacy, with an estimated fortune of 280000 to 1000000 dollars. He began investing last summer after buying Standard Oil of New Jersey stock, and has conducted most transactions from Manila via brokers and banks in the United States. He has been in Manila for more than two years.
Coastal storm toll rises as crews rescue near Newport and Seattle report high winds. Drowning victim Victor Webb remains missing after a launch capsized on Alsea Bar and Coast Guard men endure forty hours at sea.
Joseph Tyler 74 died at his Columbus home with his wife Anna Parsch two sons Tril a Columbus druggist and Gerald a student at Ohio State University and a daughter Mation a nurse in Cleveland surviving. Remains to be brought to brother in law Alex Parsch East avenue this evening prior to funeral at St Marys church with Mass at 9 oclock.
Police reported that thieves looted the safe in W. H. Arnold store on North High Street, Columbus, late yesterday and escaped with $3,988.90. The event occurred at a jewelry shop. Investigators seek leads.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Ford motored toward Detroit from Xenia after spending Christmas with Mrs. Ford’s brother and sister-in-law, E. R. Bryant, and the Bryant children ranging from nine years to four months.

In Warren County Ohio a Christmas gathering at the Kaiser home ended in tragedy when Edward Kaiser shot Carl Baker through the abdomen with a gun found in the house. The Baker boy died last night.
Mrs Sophia Schroeder died at her home on East River last evening after a two week illness. Survived by husband Alvin Stoll of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Resident of Elyria for 54 years. Body to Sudro Funeral Home with arrangements to be announced.

James Kershaw, Cleveland traffic policeman, was involved in a Christmas morning collision with a county sheriff’s department car. He pleaded guilty to reckless driving, was fined $25 plus costs, and had the suspect vehicle attached to cover damages to the county car.
Walter Ansel of 131 Marseilles avenue reported to police that Monday evening two men robbed him of $65.85 in front of the gospel mission house on East Bridge street. He describes the hold ups as tall men in dark rough clothing.
Robert S. Taylor of Columbus told Dayton police that he was slugged and chloroformed by three men who hopped into his car after a red lantern signal. He was hurled from the vehicle and robbed of his automobile as he returned from Christmas with his father, the London Ohio police chief.

Walter Mitchell of Oberlin and Charles Pruett of Cleveland were killed when the car they rode in plunged into a ditch near the State experiment station on Cleveland road Ridgeville shortly after midnight on Christmas morning. Mitchell suffered a fractured skull and multiple injuries while Pruett died from a broken neck and severe bruises. Bodies were taken to Taylor's funeral home on Court street. Mitchell was married with no children. Pruett was single.
Claude St. Thomas, 27, was burned to death in a Shelby hotel fire that also partially destroyed the building and forced many guests to flee. The blaze occurred early Christmas morning and caused extensive property damage in Shelby.
A blaze at a hotel in sic Town started from a lighted cigarette tossed by Thomas and not extinguished, investigators believe, igniting the building.

Frances Friend 17 was killed and his mother fatally injured when their car at a Pennsylvania Railroad crossing near East Aurora was struck by a fast freight train. Father injured, train demolished the machine at the scene.
A 55 year old huckster named John Craven and an unidentified man drowned when their car plunged through a wall and fell 18 feet into the Tidal Basin early today. The driver was rescued and detained for investigation.
Two persons were dead and 15 injured in Texas holiday automobile accidents today. A Corsicana grade crossing crash killed 12 year old Gillette Rowe and Hazel McClarty of Seymour died when her car overturned breaking her neck.
Dec 26 Alton Illinois Two men Charles Burris and Charles Pickering residents of Yager Park were killed when their car was struck on a crossing by a Chicago and Alton passenger train. The auto was dragged about 100 feet.
Police hunted the driver of a so called death car after a wreck in Los Angeles left three people dead and seven others dying. A street car incident knocked two boys from a step and the auto sped away without stopping for aid. The victims named include 13 year old Wii T Jeprof and 11 year old William Kaprof with other injuries reported as critical.
Charie s automobile collided with a Pennsylvania Flier train on a grade crossing. F Troutman, 35, of Dayton sustained fatal injuries when the train struck his vehicle. The accident occurred as the Pennsylvania Flier approached while running late.
