Flood waters breached levees threatening Yuba City and nearby Marysville forcing mass evacuations of about 25 thousand people. Army of volunteers guarded seven miles of levees as authorities declared a major disaster and mobilized federal aid.
The weatherman says a White Christmas is unlikely in parts of Ohio with temperatures dipping to about 45 in eastern and northern areas. Southwestern Ohio may see 34 while cloudy skies and light rain blanket the Buckeye State. The mild pattern lingers into Sunday afternoon.

The break-in was found by staff this morning as they arrived to open the business. the desk drawer and cash register were forced open. Further checks are underway to assess additional losses.

Warren Wirth 21 of 315 Elm Street South Amherst was critically injured in a morning crash on Quarry Road at 16 20. His car skidded on a curve, struck a utility pole and was torn open. He was thrown from the vehicle and taken to Amherst Hospital with unknown condition at noon.
The 7-year-old pope called for an international agreement to ban the test and use of nuclear weapons. He urged an effective system of international inspection and control as a duty of conscience to prevent destruction. Police raided Tremont Book Shop revealing a thriving bookmaking operation in the back room. The incident occurred on a recent Friday as officers found activity tied to illegal gambling.
