Home State warned to curb ESM holdings before collapse
Ohio Deposit Guarantee Fund vice president Charles Mayleben testified that Home State Savings Bank executives were repeatedly warned beginning in 1982 to reduce investments with ESM Government Securities Inc. of Fort Lauderdale. The thrift collapsed in March 1985 after ESM was closed by the SEC.
