Boy pulled from pond dies after long battle
A 10-year-old boy named Jeffrey Goodale, pulled from an ice-covered pond in Massachusetts after two hours under water, died after a 34-hour hospital fight. Massachusetts General Hospital officials said no extraordinary measures were taken near 11 p.m. concluding it was not in the boy or family's interest to continue heroic efforts.
