Will O Turner of West Main street LaGrange will celebrate his 90th birthday on Sunday December 28 with open house from 2 pm at the home of his grandson and granddaughter Dale Wise of North Main street. Turner was born December 28 1857 on his father's farm near Belden. He raised three orphans, lived in LaGrange 45 years, and has seven grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. He attends LaGrange churches, belongs to the Century Club and drives his own car.
Patricia Latirad Schmidt a dancer in Havana was moved to a semi private cell after learning a 15 year sentence. Embassy officials discussed the case with authorities and no other visitors were admitted. She had been in a crowded cell and was moved to an infirmary for hysteria before transferring to a smaller unit. Sydney, Australia, plans a new plant for the manufacture of oor.
Three Elytia Kiwanis Club members will deliver a Christmas message at a luncheon hosted by the Elks Club on Wednesday. Speakers include Rev. Henry K. Shaw of the First Christian Church, Dr. James H. St vard of the First Methodist Church, and Capt. Burton Johnson of the Salvation Army. The group normally meets Thursdays but will convene midweek due to the Christmas holiday.
