Madison a Elyria city councilman and Mackin a Stow official pull petitions to run for the 55th District State House seat. Both are early contenders in the May primary with deadlines in February for party candidacy and later dates for write ins. Ken neth Kenny Prechtel longtime Carlisle Township Trustee and advocate for a new Fire Department died Thursday at age 73. He served four terms as trustee and eight years as township chairman. Colleagues recall his devotion to the township and his role in founding the Carlisle Township Fire Station.
