Ridgeville seeks sewer financing amid developer withdrawals
North Ridgeville officials continue negotiating a plan to fund the western sewer project. Semi jackknifes on 304 spills hydraulic oil
A commercial truck jackknifed on state Route 301 about a quarter mile south of U.S. Route 20 in Carlisle Township Tuesday, spilling about 75 gallons of hydraulic oil into a ditch. The driver was uninjured, and cleanup took about five hours. The incident also knocked a telephone pole with a transformer and main cable. Lorain Medina Rural Electric replaced the pole and restored power. A hazardous materials team recovered the oil and removed contaminated soil.

School plans unveiled for Avon-MKC elementary project
Avon MKC Associates presented plans for a 68,000 square foot elementary school on Detroit Road east of Avon Commons to the Planning Commission and public. Groundbreaking could be as early as this spring with a 450 student capacity and future expansion to 550. The design includes a three lane exit, eastward relocation for expansion, a smaller lot of 160 spaces, and a perimeter fence if directed by the school board.
