Oberlin High Students Gain Access to IB Diploma Program
Oberlin High School has won approval to offer a rigorous International Baccalaureate diploma program next school year. Superintendent Geoffrey Andrews said about half of students may take IB courses, with a quarter to a third entering diploma classes across six disciplines. The program includes a 4,000-word essay and 150 hours of creativity, action and service. Oberlin College grants up to 28 semester hours to IB graduates, and officials hope to expand to primary and middle schools next. Contact Cindy Leise for details.
