Bitter cold wave brings snow from Northwest to Great Lakes
A cold front dropped snow and rain across the Northwest while arctic air reached the Great Lakes and Texas. Morning lows were below freezing across much of the northern states, with bitter wind chills from 15 to 30 below zero in South Dakota and Minnesota and 20 to 45 below elsewhere in North Dakota.

Ohio Edison to cut fuel charge for residential customers
Ohio Edison will lower the fuel charge for residential customers using 500 kilowatt hours or more per month by 0.44 dollars starting January 1. The Public Utilities Commission approved reducing the fuel charge from 1.4009 to 1.3129 cents per kilowatt hour, valid through June 30, 1993.
