Brookshier Apology Sparks CBS Suspension and Louisville Tie
Tom Brookshier apologized after a Louisville remark that drew harsh reaction. CBS suspended him for the rest of the season, while his CBS contract expires April 30. New plans for next season remain unsettled as CBS negotiates talent and broadcasts. Brookshier visited Louisville officials and students, with Swain accepting the apology. CBS also filled Nightwatch anchor spot with Charlie Rose and Lark McCarthy, as Bardot threatens a suit over a planned telemovie in CBS plans.
