About four hours of disruption followed a break in the Poplar St water main around 10 am. Safety Service Director Michari Lotko said a contractor working on storm sewer installation caused the break. Harns rector of Trinity Church Highland Park and his wife Janet Carlile Harris whose mother belonged to the Jeffrey family founders of a major Columbus industry.
A 24 year old mother Leona Valentine was killed and two drivers seriously injured in a collision at Routes 10 and 301 at 9 p m yesterday. Barnett Lemons 33 of LaGrange and Jack McCombs 31 of Girard were hospitalized with injuries. The Hess Cartage Co truck from Melvindale collided with Lemons Dodge near the southeast shoulder. McCombs suffered a severe forehead laceration and contusions. Valentine had moved to Elyria nine months ago from Beatrice Virginia. The body was taken to Sudre Cunts Funeral Home pending arrangements.
Washington rumor suggests Senator Stuart Symington may be the Democratic candidate as party divisions surface during the nominating process. Rep Morgas Moulderte Mn indicated Symington could be a candidate at the convention amid deadlock among delegates.
