Elyria Council Okays Police Chief Pay Increase
Elyria City Council approved a 9 percent raise for Police Chief Duane Whitely effective January 1 bringing his base salary to 96 639 a 14 5 percent higher than a police captain. Toddler Fatally Struck In Home Driveway Accident
In Wellington Township Lorain County a 22 month old girl Elvina Holmes died after a vehicle driven by a family member struck her in the driveway on Peck Wadsworth Road around 11 am. Deputies said the driver did not see the child and was moving a vehicle when the incident occurred.
