Critical Period Ahead For Separated Siamese Twins
The Brodie twins Roger and Rodney, 15 months old, were separated after a 12 hour 40 minute operation at the University of Illinois Hospital. Surgeons say a critical post operative period lies ahead and the ultimate outcome is unknown. Royt Brodie and his wife prayed outside as the team worked to fashion new skull coverings and separate blood vessels. The operation, one of the first of its kind, has only two prior sun operations that ended in death.
