Inflation news boosts market as Wall Street responds to better than expected wholesale price figures. The Dow Jones industrials gained 2.23 points to reach 1,239.02 in the first half hour, after a three session decline totaling 24.80 points.
AP dispatch reports mixed wholesale egg prices in Ohio and the Midwest. Ohio retailers see carton prices around 1.07 to 1.09 for large eggs and 1.05 to 1.07 for mediums amid light farm demand. hens report few unfilled reports. Midwest wholesale quotes show Class 1 large at 87 cents, larger variability across classes with nest-run and breaking stock near 73 to 67 cents per dozen.
AP reports New York spot prices for nonferrous metals including copper at 72 cents per pound, lead 24 to 27 cents, zinc 44 cents, tin quoted at 62950, aluminum 81 cents per pound, with gold at 98875 per ounce, silver at 9100 per ounce, mercury 320 to 340 per 76 pound flask, and platinum at 5404 per troy ounce.
Kidron consignments Thursday showed hogs especially feeder pigs strong with market hogs at 49.75 top. Feeder pigs reached 1,196 head the most in years. cattle and calves also strong with steer prices 37.50 to 55.50 and dairy cows 0.84 or higher per pound.

The Lily Tulip Co plans to relocate its corporate headquarters from Toledo to Augusta Georgia, becoming the third largest privately held company HQ in Georgia. The Augusta plant employs 700 workers and about 100 engineers and product developers will move from Toledo.
