Aspirants plan for filing petitions due February 2 1958 at 4 p.m. for municipal primary elections in May. Nonpartisan offices like school board township trustee and township clerk have until August 8 to file. One trustee and a clerk will be elected in townships while three school board members will be chosen.
Governor Lausche demanded payment to Ohio for use of state property if Columbus proceeds with an underground parking garage under the State House. He studied a report deeming the project feasible and criticized its omission of a site payment.
Avon Lake issued ten building permits for new homes valued at $139,600 during October per building inspector Keller Lewis. An additional 14 permits were issued for miscellaneous buildings totaling $18,417, and 35 new applications were received.
