A group of Elyria business leaders subscribed 120000 in Colson Company stock at a dinner hosted by F W Colson Company head. He outlined business operations, distribution reach, and major accounts, noting stock offering and eight percent returns to investors.
David W. Burns a 44 year old parole officer at the Lansing Kansas penitentiary died in St Louis after being shot by convict Ben Casey while returning two escapees to prison. The shooting occurred on a train near Alicia Arkansas as Burns and Charles O Keith escorted the pair. both convicts escaped.
Mayor Adolph Unger of Tiffin and 24 associates are indicted on conspiracy to manufacture and sell intoxicating liquor. The case cites 42 overt acts, alleges bootlegging since 1923 with sales at six dollars per gallon, and claims official protection by Unger and police.
New York December 15 A two year old girl Dorothy Tresch of Woodhaven swallowed a 3 pin and faced a risky removal near the heart. The operation lasted about fifteen minutes and was nearly painless with general anaesthesia as the surgeon guided a silver tube from the throat to extract the pin.
In Hyde Park Cincinnati a father S A Mullikin 52 a wealthy publisher and his two daughters Ruth Muthikis 30 and Elizabeth Mullikin 19 were killed when their car struck a Norfolk and Western train crossing. A third daughter Mary Louise is seriously injured and another daughter and their mother survive.
President Coolidge commuted the sentences of all remaining political prisoners in federal penitentiaries for wartime offenses. Convictions occurred in Chicago Kansas City and Sacramento with release under a commission led by former War Secretary Baker and Bishop Brent and James G Harbord following attorney general Daugherty recommendations.

About 65 persons were thrown out of work when a fire damaged the tor pistol plant of the Kile Manufacturing Company in Westerville early today. The blaze disrupted production and prompted investigations into its cause. Authorities reported no injuries.
