Elyria Catholic High School Art Department Busy at Christmas
The Elyria District Catholic High School art department, lacking a formal program at opening in 1949, has grown under Sister Mary Giovanne. Notable alumni include John Uvardy, a Cleveland Institute of Art instructor, and Daniel Staskiews, who held a Heidelberg exhibit. Seniors and first-year students work on stained glass Nativity scenes and home centerpieces as the department plans serigraphs mosaics and other projects through the year.
