Mrs. C. E. Shelton entertained the Piversice Reading Circle at Tourscar Wakeman for Christmas. Sixteen members attended and Anna West was welcomed as the new member by president Mrs. Claire Ginste. Mrs. Charles Clark read a poem and Mrs. Blein Hurst read a Christmas story. The circle sang carols led by Mrs. Earl Peabody and members brought gifts for the Huron County Home for aged. Next meeting will be January at Mrs. Alles Weiser's home.
Pan Amedio, ex diplomatic service member and new Clearview High School head football coach, addressed the Sheffield Lake Kiwanis on duties of courier. The club, with 40 members, plans Christmas tree sales at Smuts Hardware and near Sama's Shop to fund community projects. An installation party for Jan 9 at Lorain Yacht Club is scheduled, with Hay-Anns auxiliary officers and a new member induction on Dec 0.
Mrs Kenneth Jones was elected president of the Goodwill Workers at a Christmas dinner meeting. Other officers named include Mrs Paul Gainck as vice president and Mrs Arthur Eberhart as secretary with Mrs Earl Demps as treasurer.
Fran cis Elsen, 19, was en route to the Korbel garage when his truck failed brakes and crashed through the plate glass window of the garage. The garage charged him 300.
