National Tube Company to Expand Seamless Tubing at Lorain Plant

Lorain plant will add seamless tubing capability with sizes from two to ten inches. Conversion of unit three japp mills underway with new tube mill at full operation. Equipment includes 910 kilowatt generators and three 2960 horsepower boilers. The expansion follows growing oil field demand for seamless pipe and marks first major Lorain mill upgrade in over a year.

City Auditor Alex Schuleman reported to council that Elyria's total bonded indebtedness stands at 2 770 236 20 with 320 484 20 in investments and 459 627 17 in cash within the sinking fund giving a 370 121 37 sinking fund total. Debentures include 761 075 for general bonds 1 743 000 for water works 192 687 20 for special assessment bonds and 52 978 00 for notes. Water works capital remains self sustaining with funds drawn for debt service in 1924 178 000 00 in 1925 135 000 00 and in 1926 142 000 00 available.
