Farm implement dealer sees slow recovery in 1983
R J Purdy of Fremont reports a 30 percent drop in farm equipment sales as 1983 looms. High interest, rising credit costs, and low crop prices squeeze farmers, with Consolidation feared and inventory burdens mounting at the International Harvester dealership. Repairs and parts sales rise modestly as farmers push machinery to last another season.
