Origins of tree explained
New York UPI reports the Christmas tree origin traces to ancient sprit worship in the Black Forest of Germany where tribesmen cut oak trees for Odin. In the 8th century St Boniface urged replacing the oak with a fir to honor the Christ Child, shaping modern Christmas tree custom.
