Sheffield Lake radio operator in Vietnam keeps in touch
Lorain County native Specialist Bill Pawlikowski, 20, serving with the 1st Cavalry Division in Vietnam, explains how he handles three radios at a forward LZ. He notes two brigade sets for combat and a MEDEVAC channel, while staying in touch with fellow Lorain County men back home. He reflects on the harsh conditions, recent losses, and the unit’s mobile, austere lifestyle as they press the fight near Binh Long and Tay Ninh.
