Rainbow Girls in Lorain held an initiation and inspection led by Joyce Kostya. Initiated and their big sisters include Sharon Stone and others. new introductions included Florence Orseno and Dianne Walters. Refreshments followed the meeting.
Rebekah Social Club hosted a Christmas dinner for 29 members and three guests at Monteith Hall on Tuesday. The event featured silver decorations, readings by Dorothy Barrett, and election of officers led by Edith Whitman as president. Officers include Edith Whitman president, Alice Jones vice president, Thelma Tite secretary, Ednad Woodcock treasurer, and Helen Six sunshine treasurer. Auditing by Iva Marsh, Evelyn Pratt, Ludema Taylor. calendar committee includes Helen Six, Cozette Green, Hilda Mapes. Prizes awarded to Evelyn Pratt and Edna Woodcock, with Thelma Tite receiving special prizes. pillow case project proceeds noted as a fundraiser.
Mrs. Axel Skjerne of Oberlin spoke to the Metropolitan Club on Danish Christmas customs including Advent wreath lighting, bringing in the Christmas tree on December 22, and holiday music and services. Members voted to adopt a family for Christmas and spent the evening wrapping clothing and toys, with gifts to be delivered soon. The next meeting will be January 8 at Mrs. Madden's home.
Girl Scout Troops 16 and 17 planned caroling at Gates Hospital and making red capes. Officers for the month are Mary Moore president Kathleen Toth secretary and Marcia Wagner reporter. Troop 75 served Hawaiian punch and cupcakes at a Christmas party and worked on mobiles with visitor Kathy Thomas. Troop 28 of Crestwood School held a Christmas program at Maplewood School with a Christmas Cheer basket for a needy family. the orchestra and singing groups performed and a candlelight service closed the event.
