Huntington Grange number 2043 met in regular form noting the next Grange dance on Friday December 15. A 35 cent gift exchange will highlight the Christmas program and the regular Grange meeting follows on December 21. The group discussed business and a past appeal for aid.
At the Masonic dining room last night El Rey Grotto hosted over ninety candidates and sponsors for a free turkey dinner. Joe Boddy led as master of ceremonies with Past Monarchs Clair S. Riley and Len Kuss present. Monarch Frank Wilcox welcomed the prophets. Entertainment came from a guitar duo, a bass quartet, and group singing. The dinner was arranged by the membership committee led by co-chairs C. Andress and M. Flood. A new after dinner speakers timer was introduced by the secretary and membership committee. Supreme council tie clasps were awarded to prophets who secured two to five petitions in the past year.
The Ohio Journalism Hall of Fame inducted Carl V. Van Anda of the New York Times and Robert F. Wolfe of the Columbus Dispatch and Ohio State Journal. Monuments were presented at a ceremony by Neil MacNeil and Karl B. Pauly for inclusion in the hall sponsored by Ohio State University.
Theodore Camp of La Grange was elected president of the Lorain County Agricultural Society at a recent meeting in C L Hill's office. He succeeds Fred N. Pitts of Wellington, who led in 1949 and 50. J C Rapking of Huntington is vice president and Clair L Hill is secretary treasurer. The group plans to attend the Ohio Fair Managers meeting January 10 and 11 in Columbus.
