Door Not Closed Completely To Truman Program

Washington The House Banking Committee said it has not closed the door on President Truman s stand by price and wage controls to curb inflation. It said it would not study the N point plan until Congress reconvenes next month and that adoption of the Republican four point anti inflation program does not rule out further consideration of Truman proposals. The House may take up the GOP plan Monday amid fear of a head on clash with Democrats over cost of living measures in the special session. Despite a Republican majority some members worry the four point plan could be killed by a parliamentary maneuver.
