Snowbound Columbus faces water outage and state of emergency
Sub-zero conditions grip Northeast Ohio as Columbus declares a state of emergency after a broken water main cuts downtown water. Power outages affect about 20 000 homes while National Guard tanks assist in delivering supplies and clearing routes. One death is linked to the blizzard as crews work to restore services and aid isolated communities along Lake Erie. The city and region brace for continued winter storms with schools closed and travel hazardous.
