Midnight court fines two overloaded truck drivers

Man Appeals Pease Warrant Arrest Over Threats
Peace proceedings against Michael Smolek of South Amherst were appealed from Justice to Common Pleas Court. Smolek, arrested on a peace warrant Tuesday night by Sheriff Underhill and Deputy Cowie, is charged with threatening to kill or wound Alex Sokoloff. Sokoloff swore the affidavit and believes he will testify before the grand jury in 22 assault and battery cases. Smolek holds an appeal bond of $500.
