Marijuana found in church fruit truck in North Olmsted
A Texas driver delivering fruit to North Olmsted United Methodist Church faced a load of about 25 pounds of marijuana worth nearly 25000 dollars discovered in three cartons inside the semi. Police said the driver was unaware of the contraband as volunteers unloaded the shipment and drug-sniffing dogs located two more cartons. No arrests were reported.

Woman guilty of arson in 1996 Elyria fire case
Lorain woman Tracey Kane, 26, pleaded no contest in Common Pleas Court to arson, a misdemeanor punishable by up to six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. She faced an aggravated arson charge, a first degree felony, with prosecutors noting inconsistencies in her statements and noting a prior increased fire insurance coverage. Kane will be sentenced in four to six weeks by Judge Thomas Janas.

Burger King outlets in Lorain County WOBL and Second Harvest Food Bank of North Central Ohio have joined a holiday drive to raise 25 000 for food bags. The campaign had about 19 500 raised and runs through Dec 24 with 25 cent coupons offering a free Whopper with a chicken meal. Coupons are sold to support food distributions via 20 local service groups.
