AIDS fears tied to gay civil rights at Oberlin conference
Jeffrey Levi of the National Gay Task Force warns AIDS figures heighten threats to homosexuals, including insurance denial and quarantine pressure. He cites CDC guidelines on work access and notes rising costs with estimates of $140,000 per patient and a 1988 death toll surpassing Vietnam War casualties. Congress backs $234 million for next year’s AIDS efforts.
