Gene therapy yields dramatic remissions in blood cancers
Gene treatment transforms patients' T cells into cancer fighters in a multi group effort. In ALL trials, all five adults and 19 of 22 children achieved complete remissions. Emily Whitehead, once near death, shows no cancer nearly two years later. Researchers report 120 plus patients across myeloma, lymphoma, and CLL with strong responses and several relapses, signaling potential U S approval.
