Police say a parked car rolled and struck a home on Lake Avenue, causing minor damage. The driver, 45, was detained. no serious injuries reported. The incident involved a city cruiser and left side damage to the vehicle and residence.
Oslerlin City Council approved Twining Motors bid of 1 507 for furnishing a police cruiser. The bid beat four other offers including Prout Chevrolet and Skeets Ford agency, with trades on a 165 Plymouth and a 160 Ford. A separate police report notes a crash on Gulf Avenue where a cruiser skidded in icy conditions, causing front-end damage. Cleveland driver Devera 24 was charged with failure to stop in an assured clear distance after a collision on East Bridge Street. A third incident on Cleveland Street involved Eugene Cavaceci 25 causing signs to be knocked over. icy roads were blamed.
Council reports Municipal Court collections in November totalled 3272.70 for fines costs and other items with 8272 in overall city revenue. Court Clerk Pearl Cautie submitted the figures showing 77260.15 from city state and county arrests and other fees including 179.90 in state fines and 805 in costs. City case totals included 3752 in fines 05 in costs and 1365 in parking tickets for 3770.75. Distributions to state county North Eaton and North Ridgeville totaled 1.70 1097.34 5 and 149 respectively. Additional items included higher legal advertising rates under new state law and a $69 mayoral office collection for chauffeurs vendors and copy costs. Steve Spisak queried sale of city property at Lake Ave corner Murray Ridge Rd and Olive Bruce sought city assistance with medical bills from a sidewalk fall on Northup St with three weeks off work.
