Teachers To Meet To Exchange Ideas

Lorain county schools superintendent C A Gibbons reported that 18 of 22 groups from the recent workshop at Clearview and Vincent schools plan further meetings to exchange ideas. Meetings will occur in the evenings after school during teachers off time.

Church Building Sold to Amherst Lodge in Amherst

Negotiations near completion for the sale of St. Paul Lutheran church at Franklin avenue and West street to Stonington Masonic Lodge. Frederick Berger represents the lodge and Walter Levi Hos the congregation. Purchase price not disclosed. The church has bought land on Central drive next to Cleveland avenue, extending to Jackson street, with a new edifice planned at about $100,000. Both groups meet this week to plan steps forward.

Kiwanis Conference Draws Lorain Medina Officers

Hirsch Questioned In Phone Hearing On Rate hike

Gustav Hirsch of Northern Ohio Telephone was cross examined by Ohio Public Utilities Commission in Columbus as it resumes its hearing on an $830 387 rate increase. Hirsch put the company net worth at 18 807 330 while the commission estimated 18 300 000. Northern Ohio Telephone runs 64 exchanges in 22 counties. The rate increase filing dates back to July 1952.
