Dee William Chapman 29, of Indianapp Indiana, died after falling 40 feet from a Mansfeld reformatory dormitory roof while attempting escape. He improvised a rope from heavy twine that failed to bear his weight. Death caused by paternal injuries. Chapman had worked in the reformatory kitchen and was sentenced from Boston last April 24 on burglary and larceny charges.
