Rusty metal may solve Earhart mystery at Alcoa Center
Richard Gillespie of the International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery met with Alcoa Technical Center researchers in New Kensington Pennsylvania to test a rusted metal artifact linking to Amelia Earhart. Tests showed the piece is not definitively from Earhart’s Lockheed Electra but could resemble aircraft metal. Gillespie plans further work in Nikumaroro to support his theory of Earhart’s crash there, needing half a million dollars.
