The November Labor Department report shows only 39 000 jobs added while the unemployment rate edges toward 10 percent. Economists expected 150 000 jobs and warn the recovery remains uneven with hiring not keeping pace with workforce growth.
Lorain based Neff Brothers RV supplied six RVs and a 36 foot motor home to the Extreme Makeover crew for the Maple Heights family project. Marcus Brothers Construction handled on site work while Ty Pennington used the large motor home. Neff says the show was a freebie aside from a requested credits fee they refused.
A federal judge in Columbus declined to cut Donald Ayers sentence from 15 to five years after a appeals court questioned a money laundering charge. Ayers, from Fort Myers Florida, argued for double jeopardy and independent sentences but the judge recalculated to 15 years. Defense plans to appeal within 30 days.
FedEx Corp. will raise ground shipping and home delivery rates by about 4.9 percent next month with new rates effective Jan 3. The increase is partially offset by adjusting fuel surcharges, trimming the surcharge by a full point.
