Commissioners Extend Tax Payment Deadline to January 20
The Lorain County Board of Commissioners by resolution extended the first half tax payment deadline for 1928 by 30 days to January 20, 1929, with final payment due June 20, 1929. The delay followed the county auditor’s difficulty calculating tax figures after voters approved the levy in November, delaying tax bills from the treasurer. The treasurer’s office says bills will be mailed mid-month and lists 1928 and 1927 tax rates by district, noting Avon Lake Village has the lowest rate in the county.
