Memorial boulder honors Alex Sismour in cul-de-sac tribute
Neighbors and family friends funded and placed a west facing engraved boulder near the Sismour home to honor Alex Sismour. The roughly $800 stone features an image and inscription Forever in our hearts Alex Sismour Friend to us all. The stone was placed after approval by the development’s homeowners association and will be blessed by Father Robert Franco.

Mom charged after abandoning child during Crocker Park shoplifting
Westlake police say 19-year-old Brettany Walton fled Crocker Park with her 1-year-old son as she and two teens stole items. Two 15-year-olds were arrested with stolen goods. Walton refused to reclaim her child. Child taken to St John Medical Center and later picked up by grandmother. Authorities say Walton has warrants for complicity and contributing to delinquency of a minor.

Woman Escapes Abduction Attempt at Lorain Middle School
An 18 year old Lorain woman reported being grabbed from behind near the old Whittier Middle School on Seneca Avenue by a white male driver in a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt. She fought back, escaped, and the assailant fled. plate traced to a man matching the description, no arrest yet.

A 64 year old Elyria man, Mark Collier, was hit by a silver Chevy truck in a crosswalk in front of the Lorain County Administration Building around 6 30 p m on Monday. He was transported to EMH Medical Center and later flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland and has since been discharged. The driver, Stephan Budway, 63, was cited for failing to yield to a pedestrian in a crosswalk. Budway was driving south on Middle Avenue when the collision occurred. he said he did not see Collier in the crosswalk. Collier wore a black jacket and blue pants.
