Argentine soldiers revolt before Bush visit in Argentina
About 50 soldiers seized parts of downtown army headquarters an infantry base and a tank factory two days before President Bush's scheduled visit. At least three soldiers were killed and five wounded in the fourth military revolt in four years. President Menem declared a state of siege while Bush said the trip would continue. A rebel spokesman said demands were about military reform not overthrow. The mutiny marked Argentina's first revolt since Menem took office in 1989.
