Lorain youth faces long jail term for burglary and manslaughter
James Chambers, 18, of 2961 Denver Ave Lorain, was convicted yesterday of aggravated burglary and involuntary manslaughter. Judge Mikus ordered 4 to 25 years on each count to be served consecutively, plus existing 1 to 5 years for grand theft. Chambers, with a prior juvenile record, claimed mistaken identity in the Stanziano burglary where Hicks was killed. He plans an appeal with attorney Nicholas Petroff appointed for his case. The sentence adds to a prior conviction and reformatory history. In a separate Florida note, nearly all of Lehigh residents signed up for the 1977 spring festival activities beginning February 27.
