Columbia Township faces five zoning amendments affecting lot sizes setbacks and classifications. Proposals include minimums from 11 250 to 21 780 square feet, protections for existing structures, and required sewer connections. Public hearing set for 8 p m Thursday at the township fire station district 4.
John Nichols and William Cromwell open a combined restaurant and delicatessen on Rt d east of Eaton School. Daily dinners and short order lunches with take-out. Mrs. Joseph Nichols manages the kitchen, and a waitress named Marie Brush works the floor as locals browse the deli lines.
A refresher course for professional engineers planned this month is canceled due to insufficient applicants. Sponsor John E B Gilkey of Lorain County Society of Professional Engineers says the course may be offered later this winter if interest grows and applications continue to be accepted.
