Three Pickets arrested at Westinghouse plant
In Columbus Ohio deputies arrested three pickets for interfering with the arrest of another picket at the Westinghouse plant. The man was accused of abusive language and the incident followed reports of coal throwing and continued back to work movement. In Ebensburg Pennsylvania two Pennsylvania Railroad freight trains collided head on on a clear track along the Cresson Branch near Johnstown. Three crewmen were killed and at least four injured. Train Crash Fatal To 13 In London Area
Thirteen people were killed and about fifty injured when a passenger train collided with a standing freight train near Dames eight miles west of central London. Firemen battled flames up to 40 feet high as rescue crews, volunteers, and residents pulled victims from wreckage. Eyewitnesses reported several explosions after impact. The crash came amid two earlier rail accidents in the London area.

Lorain widow becomes naturalized citizen at 77
Mary B. Skorupa, 64 Lakeside Ave, Lorain, lifted her right hand and swore allegiance to the United States, marking a 52 year wait and ending a long personal journey from Poland. She was the oldest of 78 new citizens and had endured years of hardship after moving to the U.S. on Palm Sunday 1903. Her husband Martin, crippled and blind, died last December before she could see citizenship achieved. They had five children, all remaining in Lorain.

Plane crash near Rapid City leaves three dead
In Rapid City, South Dakota, a Beechcraft Bonanza wreckage was found Friday night about 25 miles south of the city after the aircraft had been missing since Thursday. The victims are identified as pilot Ed Dowling, 35, of Rapid City and two Dickinson residents, Howard Schnell and Ralph Klemn.
