Warned Agents Ready For Sabotage In War

The Library of Congress warned that a disciplined army of Communist agents could sabotage the United States in wartime with Russia. The public bulletin notes Nazi sabotage in World War II was limited, but a larger, darker threat could emerge with American citizens among the saboteurs. The report argues no military security suffices and highlights guided missiles as a key future threat, possibly more costly than atomic bombs. It also contrasts the costs of atomic bombs with the rising expense of missiles.
