Ex-area gymnast pursues ambitious goals abroad
Tifani Shaffer, 16, a former Midview student now training at Gleason's Gymnastics in Eagan, Minnesota, competed in World Age Groups in Paris with the double mini, tumbling and synchronized trampolines, placing sixth. She began gymnastics in elementary school and advanced through East Carlisle, Elyria YMCA, and a North Olmsted academy before moving for better program options. Her next target is the Pan American games in Australia, funded by family or private donations as the U.S. offers no team support.
