Logan Gas Co Rejects City Rate Plan in Ohio Proceeding
The Logan Gas Co rejected the city’s latest attempt to settle the Bas rate dispute without going before the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio. City officials reported that the company offered two counter proposals acceptable to the firm. One plan set a three year minimum of $1.10 with 2000 feet included and 5.50 per thousand thereafter. two subsequent years feature $1.00 minimum for 500 feet and six cents per thousand thereafter. The first counter proposal calls for two years at $1.19 minimum with 3000 feet included and 5¢ net per thousand. The second counter proposal is to be continued on page 2.

Athens Ohio December 2 George Th Selby 81 prominent Portsmouth capitalist and bank executive died after injuries from a November 23 highway accident near Athens. He stopped to change a tire when a wet road caused the car to skid into him. Selby led the Ohio Anti Saloon League and headed Selby Shoe Company and Security National Bank of Portsmouth. He served in the Civil War and helped found the Drew Selby Co before creating the shoe factory noted for women’s footwear.
