Lisa Berner signed paperwork and sent her 14 year old Ehren Jackson to an inpatient treatment center about 300 miles away. The a yearlong saga began after a violent Thanksgiving incident in North Ridgeville when a police officer arrested the teen after he ran away and attacked the officer. Berner recalls the day Oct 1 2016 as when Ehren changed, becoming aggressive and disconnected from his former self.

No case against lawyer Mishak closed by auditor
A Nov 28 letter from the Auditor's Office Public Integrity Assurance Team informs attorney Matt Mishak his case is closed and no charges will be pursued. The agency found no wrongdoing after reviewing evidence. Elyria officials had suspended and fired Mishak last year amid theft and time-use allegations related to work for Grafton while Elyria city prosecutor.
