Two motorists fined and jailed in Elyria DUI case
Two motorists, Melvin G. Moulder of LaGrange and Steven A. Peters of Taylor Michigan, were fined $250 each and sentenced to three days in county jail in Elyria Municipal Court for driving under the influence. Moulder’s license suspended six months. Peters’ license suspended and he paid an extra $10 for driving without a license. Patrol officers arrested both men.

Furniture collection policy takes effect December 15 in Lorain
Lorain officials announce a new policy requiring furniture companies to pick up old items when delivering new goods or face city charges. The plan, prompted by a large stock of used furniture, sets an as yet undetermined fee and deadline for compliance with notification to all firms.

Burglary Attempts Reported at Elyria Country Club
Police say burglars tried two entry points at Elyria Country Club early yesterday, but no entry occurred. Night watchman found broken windows at a north side door and a south lounge around 4 am. no suspects were found in a follow up search. Local theft included a $145 Pekingese owned by Mrs Vernon Lance of 207 West River St reported shortly before midnight Saturday. Elyria police noted a separate home intrusion via an unlocked southwest window while unoccupied.
