Slippery Elyria Streets Cause Several Auto Accidents
A series of auto crashes in Elyria Saturday afternoon Sunday and early morning left injuries to seven year old Elyria boy and scratches to another rider. Edwin A Swald Detroit driver skidded on a street car rail struck the boy on East Bridge street and took him to Elyria Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Robert Johns 1116 East avenue sustained facial scratches while riding with Emmett Forden when a Lake avenue car wheel trapped in a track caused a crash that overturned the car and started a fire. Four other autos were damaged in the incidents according to police and fire department reports.

Former Congressman James T. Begg of Sandusky and Cleveland will address the Men's Club of the First Methodist Church Thursday evening. Begg, known in Elyria from a prior bid for the Republican gubernatorial nomination, was born on a western Ohio farm, attended the College of Wooster, and graduated from Lima College. He led Ohio city schools for fourteen years and spent two years in Chamber of Commerce work before serving in Congress from 1918 to 1928, where he was an assistant floor leader. He now works in investment banking in Cleveland.
