Suspect in chop shop sites seeks return of seized items
A 32 year old Elyria Township man, Coy Russell Troutman, filed suit in Lorain County Common Pleas Court demanding the return of items seized in a July 23 raid linked to an interstate auto theft chop shop. Police say four stolen vehicles were recovered, and Troutman faces prior indictments in West Virginia and ongoing investigations.

Fire Department investigators probe two suspicious fires that caused about 40000 in losses to vacant Wood Street structures in Elyria. One blaze left a kitchen and second floor torched while a second fire began on a second floor. A separate blaze at 405 Second St caused 8000 damage to a home.
