Car Crash Fatality Reported in Lorain Area
Witnesses described a fatal collision in which Mr. Jewett’s head was severely injured after a car struck a pole. Davila awoke to the crash and attempted to summon help, but phone service was disrupted by the impact. The Jewett vehicle was seen with another car shortly before the crash. A Lorain man identified as Marold Jewett of 1935 West 19th Street died when his late model Lincoln left the pavement on a curve at Pearl Road and 48th Street just south of Lorain. Police say the car struck a telephone pole then a tree, scattering motor parts on the lawn of Jose Davila at 4346 Pearl Road.
