Funeral at 2 PM Friday from 725 Beech Street with Rev Kalassay officiating. Burial at Ridgelawn cemetery. Toledo report notes of Ben Babcock suicide in Ottawa Park.
A Lorain bakery wagon driver swerved to save a cream pie sliding from a rack on Oak Street. He struck an electric sedan and was struck by cream pie debris, causing damage to both vehicles and pie splatter on Kowalski. The Kowalski car owner will be billed for damages.
A Lorain County Republican Executive Committee meeting elected six women to the committee. Stella Schilleman from Elyria Evan Hilly from Lorain, Mrs Harry Burrel from Sheffield Lake Village, Yvolet Curtice from Wellington, Clair Goas from Brighton Township, E Miller from Oberlin, Faith Heller from Amherst were named.
Washington Aug 21 President Harding informed Senator Newberry Michigan that he planned to go to Detroit September 18 to lay the cornerstone of a new Masonic Temple and he expects to visit Cleveland Ohio on the following day.

A former Elyrian escapee from the Obie penitentiary was retaken near the scene of the break after a 15 foot drop left him with a broken leg. He was found by a trusty and returned to penitentiary officials for treatment at the hospital.
Herbert Woodward aged 16 shot and killed Clarence Woodward 47 at their Alikanna home near Steubenville to protect his ill mother who had been threatened. He allegedly confessed after deputies arrived and was placed in Jefferson county jail pending a coroner’s inquest. The father, a carpenter, had resided in the area for years.
A rear end collision on the Hudson and Manhattan Railroad near Jersey City injures about twenty people. Motorman John Burke is reported in critical condition after being crushed in the cab. Traffic halted for hours as ambulances rush victims to Newark and Jersey City hospitals. Weather and thick fog contributed to the crash.
Elyria Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks lodge 465 led a twenty two member parade in white shirts trousers and purple white turbans and canes. Exalted Ruler Stoney Jackson led the group to downtown and toward Lorain where they were to be joined by Lorain Elks for further festivities at the Ohio Elks association convention. About two thousand Elks attended the parade at Cedar Point as Aug 31 hints pointed to Bart Horton of Cincinnati as the next association president.
Canton police arrested Joseph Nola as the slayer of Mr Frank Burns and Mrs Vary Nola in their Canton home early Wednesday. Nola placed in Benton Harbor harbor area since Sunday night but to be questioned again for possible involvement. Police hold several theories but no clear clue about the triple killing.
Wilbert H Sauer six years old, son of Mr and Mrs Harry Sauer, died yesterday afternoon at 12:30 at the home of Mrs Harry Chamberson on Ford Road. Funeral from Preston Hobdit’s home at 122 Hamilton Street on Saturday after noon, Reverend Paul Bourquin officiating, burial at Ridgelawn Cemetery.
